When you submit a refund request, the refunded amount (excluding Bambora's transaction fee) will be transferred from your merchant account to Bambora's trust account. Due to bank processing times, this can take up to two days. During this time the transaction status will be set to 'Approved/Pending Refund'.
If the funds are successfully withdrawn from your merchant account, the Card Holder will then be refunded and then original Credit Card transaction status will be changed to 'Approved/Refunded' or 'Approved/Partially Refunded' (depending on the refund amount).
Please note that Bambora will also pay the transaction fee taken back to the cardholder in addition to the amount taken from your merchant account. This will appear in the cardholder's account as a single transaction. If the refund is partial, then the transaction fee will be partially refunded to the cardholder on a pro-rata basis.
