Bambora integrates with third-party service vendors such as ReD, 3DS to prevent fraudulent activity. The transactional information is sent to the service provider in real-time to verify the validity of a transaction.
For example, the ReD service flags a particular transaction as a Challenge, Deny or Accept. This is done by validating the Credit Card BIN and the transaction origin location.
3DS verification adds an additional layer of security, requiring a user to enter a security code sent to the user device either via SMS or an Email, also known as two-way authentication.
In addition, Bambora might also be able to offer a service called Velocity Rules to prevent fraudulent activity. This rule is configured under client Payment Relation Manager (PRM) account. The rule is configured according to the client requirement. The commonly used rules are Maximum number of transactions allowed for same Customer Reference/Number, BIN Whitelisting, etc.
